Presenting a selection of nearly 180 objects from the museum’s Ancient and Latin American collections, "ReVisión: Art in the Americas" is a groundbreaking exhibition that tells a visually compelling narrative about the formation of the Americas from 100 B.C. to today. Centered around a thematic presentation, the show links archeological and ancient pieces to contemporary art around a thematic presentation exploring the land, people, political and social issues, and cultural heritage while expanding the narrative of Art in the Americas. This rich survey includes Carlos Cruz-Diez's Physichromie 387, Paris, 1968, part of the Denver Art Museum's collection that will be on view until July 17, 2022.
"ReVisión: Art in the Americas" is organized by curators Victoria I. Lyall, Frederick and Jan Mayer Curator of Art of the Ancient Americas, and Jorge Rivas Pérez, Frederick and Jan Mayer Curator of Latin American Art. Most of the works on view will be from the Denver Art Museum’s permanent collection, with additional loans from institutions such as the Blanton Museum of Art and the Pérez Museum.
